What does GMC Scout check?
GMC Scout crawls the Shopify storefront for policy pages (privacy, returns, shipping, terms), contact-information consistency, product data, broken links (404s), and domain age. GMC Scout checks 70+ technical, policy and trust signals commonly associated with Google Merchant Center approval, misrepresentation reviews and store-quality assessments. It is not a copy of Google’s private enforcement systems.
Is the first scan really free?
Yes. You get one free scan every 24 hours on any Shopify store — no credit card needed. The free scan shows how many issues were found and what category each falls into. Unlock the full details of a report for $49 — one payment, no subscription.
What do I get when I unlock a report?
Every issue named, the evidence behind it, the exact URLs affected, step-by-step fix guidance, and a dated PDF you can use as supporting notes for a Merchant Center appeal. The unlock also covers that store for 30 days: re-scan it as often as you need to check your fixes, and every result comes back unlocked without using your daily free scan. $49, once — nothing recurring.
Can I re-scan after I fix the issues?
Yes. Re-scans of a store you unlocked are free and unlocked for 30 days from your purchase, and they do not use your daily free scan — fixing and verifying is the same job as finding. After that window, the store falls back to the free tier: one scan every 24 hours, with counts and categories. The report you bought stays readable for good.
Does GMC Scout only work with Shopify?
Yes, GMC Scout is built specifically for Shopify stores. It uses Shopify’s product data, collection structure, and store layout to run compliance checks that generic tools cannot match — including product data validation, empty collections, and policy page detection.
How long does a scan take?
Half of all scans finish inside a minute and nine in ten inside three minutes. A large catalogue can take longer, because every URL we find gets its own status check. You’ll see a live count of pages as it runs, and you can close the tab — we email the report when it’s ready.
Is there anything to cancel?
No. Unlocking a report is a single payment — there is no plan, no renewal and nothing to cancel later. The re-scan window simply ends on its own; nothing is charged when it does. If you are on an older monthly plan from before we changed this, you can still manage or cancel it from your dashboard at any time.
