Why feed tools miss GMC misrepresentation

DataFeedWatch, Channable, Simprosys and the rest are feed tools. They are good at titles, GTINs and channel mapping. They cannot see the storefront Google told you to audit.
What feed tools compare
A feed tool checks whether product rows are complete and internally consistent: title, description, GTIN, price, availability, image link. Landing-page rules also require those fields to match the page — but the tool is still looking at the feed, not crawling your policies or contact paths.
What Google said it reviews
For misrepresentation, Google tells you to verify consistent business information, explicit policy links, and working HTTPS pages. It may also look at accounts and third-party sources. None of that lives in a feed file.
Use both, for different jobs
Keep the feed tool for distribution and attribute mapping. Use a storefront scan before you submit or appeal. GMC Scout does the second job. It does not replace a feed manager, and a feed manager does not replace a storefront audit.
FAQ
If my diagnostics tab is green, am I fine?
Diagnostics is mostly feed-level and reactive. It does not certify that your return window, phone number or policy URLs meet the website audit.
Does GMC Scout upload or rewrite my feed?
No. We crawl the storefront. We do not connect to Merchant Center OAuth or rewrite feed rows.
Which should I buy first if I am suspended?
Fix the storefront against Google’s published list, then request review. Feed hygiene matters for item disapprovals; it does not lift an account-level misrepresentation suspension by itself.
