Google Merchant Center Account Suspended? Scan the Storefront First
A suspension does not time out. Fix the live storefront against the audit Google already published, then request review once. GMC Scout crawls the public Shopify store — we do not connect to Merchant Center.
Shopify stores only. We do not scan WooCommerce, Magento or custom carts. We never connect to Merchant Center or read your product feed.

GMC Scout is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Google alone makes all Merchant Center approval and enforcement decisions. GMC Scout checks 70+ technical, policy and trust signals commonly associated with Google Merchant Center approval, misrepresentation reviews and store-quality assessments.
Free scan: issue counts and categories. Unlock the report ($49, once) for titles, evidence, affected URLs, fix guidance and the PDF. One free scan per 24 hours.
What a Merchant Center suspension actually means
Disapproval is item-level: some products stop showing and the rest of the account can still serve. A Merchant Center account suspension is different. Shopping ads stop. Free listings are removed. Performance Max can keep spending on Search and Display while the Shopping inventory that carried most of the return is gone.
The suspension stays until you meet the requirements and Google reinstates the account. Opening a new Merchant Center account while suspended is treated as circumventing systems. Do not delete the suspended account or the feed.
Storefront causes that show up in a suspension
Google’s published website audit for suspension and misrepresentation is almost entirely about the live site, not the feed file: consistent business identity, explicit policy links, and pages that resolve over HTTPS.
On a Shopify store that usually means a missing or form-only contact path, stub shipping or returns copy, policy URLs that 404, identity that does not match the Merchant Center account, or a destination that bounces to the homepage. Misrepresentation is the policy merchants search most desperately — it can fire without warning and does not require intent.
- Contact details a reviewer can use — legal name, address, phone, email — matching the account.
- Footer links to shipping, refund and privacy with real terms, not Shopify placeholders.
- Every submitted product and policy URL returns a real page.
- Checkout on HTTPS. No Lorem ipsum or “under construction” banners.
What the free scan does — and does not do
Paste the Shopify store URL. We crawl the public storefront and run 70+ technical, policy and trust checks. The free report counts issues and groups them into categories. Unlocking that report shows the titles, evidence, affected URLs, fix guidance and a PDF you can keep next to a Merchant Center appeal.
We never connect to Google Merchant Center, never read or rewrite a product feed, and never submit a review for you. A clean Scout report is not a promise that Google will reinstate the account. Feed attributes, account verification, ad history and payment processing are off-site.
FAQ
How long does reinstatement take after a Merchant Center suspension?
Google says account reviews typically take up to 7 business days, and approved products can show again within 24 hours. The suspension itself does not expire. We do not publish a typical reinstatement date.
Can I appeal a suspension more than once?
Google publishes one courtesy review during a warning period. It does not publish a lifetime appeal cap. The conservative move is the same either way: fix the storefront first, then request review once.
Will a Merchant Center suspension stop my Google Ads account?
Shopping ads stop and free listings are removed. Performance Max can keep spending on Search and Display. That is not the same as Google pausing the whole Ads account — but the Shopping inventory that usually carries the return is gone.
